From Oct. 12, 2023 to Jan. 12, 2024, the Museo delle Raccolte Frugone of the Nervi Museums will compare two “divines” by Giovanni Boldini: the large canvas dedicated to Miss Bell in the collection, with one of the oils, of the same size, kept at the Giovanni Boldini Museum in Ferrara, namely the Portrait of the Countess de Leusse standing.

The initiative aims to start a purpose of establishing a stable relationship with the Ferrara museum. The loaned work will be placed in the new room specially designed to accommodate only Boldini’s canvases, in an intimate and welcoming environment that is intended to evoke the idea of dialogue, to which the title of the exhibition refers.

Giovanni Boldini ’s large-format portraits, the majority of which are dedicated to the celebration of women, reveal an attention to modernity and fashion that makes him a point of reference for the female audience of his time and for anyone dedicated to the study of theevolution of costume and the emancipation of women, whom he captures in casual and sensual poses.
