As Campania moves from red zone to orange zone, the Real Bosco di Capodimonte will reopen to the public from Monday, April 19, 2021. This was announced by the Directorate of the Capodimonte Museum and Real Bosco.
Visitors will therefore be able to access the Park from Monday to Friday, from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and will have to comply with all the planned anti-Covid measures, such as the use of a face mask, interpersonal spacing of one meter, and a ban on assembling.
The Belvedere, the Esplanade around the Palace, the Princes’ Garden, the central avenue of the Late Baroque Garden and adjacent avenues are for pedestrians only. Running and jogging is allowed from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. (Runners must run in the ’life path’ indicated with a sign in the Woods. The avenues of the Real Bosco, areas adjacent to the Reggia and others are designated for walking).
Amateur and non-competitive sports activities are allowed; contact sports are prohibited and it is forbidden to play sports on the Belvedere, in the area adjacent to the Reggia or in the other areas designated solely for the promenade. Picnics are also prohibited in any area of the site.
Bikes may be ridden, with moderate walking gait respecting the two-meter spacing and at the gates (Porta Grande, Porta Piccola or Porta Miano) and in the exclusively pedestrian areas it is obligatory to ride the bike by hand.
Thanks to major restoration and redevelopment works, visitors will be able to enjoy an additional twenty hectares of the Forest towards the Vaccheria San Gennaro. The work has also enabled the historical recovery of the plant espaliers of the avenues and all the plant architecture, restoring the scenic effect of the fan of the avenues starting from the Hemicycle with the restoration of the sculptures, repurposing the plant niches that had been lost. The Wood holds botanical rarities and exotic species, gifts from royal houses around the world to the Bourbons.
Visiting the Museum will still have to wait for the Campania Region to pass through the yellow zone.
