Florence museum directors tell China about the city's heritage with online guided tours

The initiative is carried out in collaboration with the Ningbo Museum in China: the Chinese public will be able to visit Florentine museums via live streaming, guided by the directors of the respective museums or art historians.

The project, which can also be freely accessed online in Italy, involves a series of six streaming sessions lasting about two and a half hours each: museum directors and art historians visit their museum, illustrating its history and collections live; the lecture-conferences are accompanied by images and videos to explore some particular aspects in depth. Special guides conclude the visit remotely by dialoguing with the audience via connection from China. With the assistance of interpreters and subtitles, Chinese viewers can fully understand the proposed content. The project is carried out in cooperation with the Department of International Relations of the City of Ningbo, the Ningbo Museum of Art, the Pan Tianshou School of Architecture, Art and Design of Ningbo University, and the Department of International Communication of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Nottingham Ningbo University.
