Michelangelo’s New Sacristy, the Chapel of the Princes, and the crypt where the grand dukes of the Medici family and their relatives rest: the Medici Chapels Museum, an integral part of the Bargello Museums group, is becoming increasingly accessible, offering extended hours and extraordinary and evening openings, organized in collaboration with theOpera Medicea Laurenziana, from mid-April 2023 until January 2024.
From April 16, 2023 to January 7, 2024, the Museum will in fact be open every Sunday, thirty-eight in all, from 8:15 a.m. to 7 p.m. (that is, five hours more than the usual hours, set from 8:15 a.m. to 1:50 p.m.).
Exceptionally, it will also be open to visitors on the five holidays of April 25 (from 8:15 a.m. to 1:50 p.m., with free admission), June 2 (from 8:15 a.m. to 11 p.m.), June 24 (from 8:15 a.m. to 11 p.m.), August 15 (from 8:15 a.m. to 1:50 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.) and December 26 (from 8:15 a.m. to 7 p.m.).
Additional dates have also been added to the calendar: on Tuesdays May 23, 30 and June 6 (1:15 to 6:50 p.m.) and June 13 (8:15 a.m. to 1:50 p.m.) the Museum will be open extraordinarily to the public. On Saturday, May 13 and Thursday, August 10, the hours will instead be extended until 11 pm, and on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 8:15 am to 10 pm.
