The Capodimonte Museum and Real Bosco participates in the Dantedì by quoting verses from the Supreme Poet accompanied by works from its collections.

The Capodimonte Museum and Real Bosco will participate on Wednesday, March 25 in Dantedì, the first national day entirely dedicated to Dante Alighieri and his literary masterpiece.

The museum venue in Naples will celebrate this event by quoting verses from the Divine Comedy accompanied by works from its collection that refer to Dante.



Among the chosen works are paintings depicting the seven deadly vices (Lust, Pride, Sloth, Gluttony, Envy, Avarice and Wrath) made by the Flemish Jacques de Backer, present in the Farnese Collection, the marble bust of Dante by an unknown 19th-century artist, exhibited on the occasion of the exhibition Deposits of Capodimonte. Storie ancora da scrivere, and Achille della Croce ’s marble statue representing Pia de’ Tolomei whom Dante encounters in Canto V of Purgatory.
