The Colosseum Archaeological Park welcomes its visitors from June 1: new ticketing and access hours.

The Colosseum Archaeological Park will become accessible to visitors again fromJune 1, reopening under the banner ofaccessibility,welcoming and safety.

In preparation for the reopening, new routes and different methods of access and fruition are planned, and a memorandum of understanding with the Asl Roma 1 will guarantee a medical and health garrison on the Colosseum square.

It will be possible to access the PArCo from 10:30 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. (with last entry at 6:15 p.m.), to avoid coinciding with peak public transport times.

Visits to the Roman Forum-Palatine and Colosseum will be governed by two types of tickets: the ordinary ticket of 16 euros valid for 24 hours will remain active and a reduced ticket will be introduced for the first time to involve all visitors. This is A.R.T. (Afternoon reduced ticket) which, at a cost of 9.50 euros, will be purchasable online and usable every day from 2 p.m. until the PArCo closes. A facility designed especially for Roman citizens who will be able to access the Park at the end of the working day.

The tickets will all be dematerialized, purchasable online from the official website www.parcocolosseo.it and from www.coopculture.it (starting May 28) and linked to a free app that will allow downloading maps of the routes, historical content and all useful information for a safe visit.

The Colosseum can be accessed only by compulsory reservation and choosing a visiting time; moreover, in this first phase of reopening it will be possible to enter only from the so-called “Sperone Valadier”: groups of a maximum of 14 people every fifteen minutes will be allowed access and accompanied along the entire route.
Two routes are proposed: Colosseum is told includes overlooking the basement from the 1st order, ascent to the 2nd order, visit to the permanent exhibition, and overlook from the Valadier terrace on the Colosseum square (estimated time 45 minutes).
Colosseum-Arena runs along the 1st order to the Libitinaria gate and from there with an emotional access on the arena floor (estimated time 40 minutes, reduced route, purchasable with the afternoon ticket - A.R.T.).

At the Roman Forum and Palatine, there will equally be a single entrance, along Via dei Fori Imperiali, at Largo della Salara/Largo Corrado Ricci. From here the public, without the need to book for a specific time, will be able to follow four differentiated routes:
The Forum Square with exit from Via del Foro Romano (estimated time 30 minutes);
A walk on the Via Sacra with exit from the Arch of Titus (estimated time 1 hour 30 minutes);
From the Forum to the Imperial Palaces with exit from Via di S. Gregorio (estimated time 2 hours);
To the Origins of Rome, a route along the southern slopes of the Palatine Hill, exiting from Via di S. Gregorio (estimated time 2 hours 30 minutes).

Both at the entrance to the Colosseum and the archaeological area of the Roman Forum and Palatine will be provided with a thermoscanner. The Domus Aurea will remain closed to the public for the time being.
