The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is organizing free workshops and guided tours to bring visitors of all ages closer to the museum’s home at Palazzo Venier dei Leoni.
Kids Day will be held onSunday, July 18 and 25: at 3 p.m., children between the ages of 4 and 10 can participate in free workshops to approach art in an accessible and engaging way, experimenting with different techniques and themes. The workshop includes an initial part of close observation of the works on display and a subsequent part in which children rework the suggestions they experienced during the visit by bringing their manual and creative skills into play. On July 18, from 3 to 4:30 p.m., the museum offers the workshop Words in Art, while on July 25, from 3 to 4:30 p.m., they will work on Jackson Pollock’s dripping. Participation is free with online reservations required; you must fill out and sign the waiver that can be downloaded from the website to be delivered to the museum on the day of the workshop. Workshops will be held in the museum garden with a maximum of ten participants. In case of bad weather, the activity will be cancelled. For parents who intend to visit the museum while the children are doing the workshop, online reservation of the entrance ticket is mandatory at least 24 hours before the visit (for logistical issues, it is recommended to purchase access from 2:40 p.m. to 3:20 p.m.). For information call +39 041 24 05 444 / 401.
On August 26 at 9 a.m., before public opening hours, the museum welcomes seniors over 75. Participants will be able to discover the museum’s works through a free guided tour and experience together with their peers a moment of sharing aimed at personal well-being. The visit will last one hour and will be led by Roberta Paulon, an expert in art history, and Valentina Paulon, a psychologist. The initiative is conceived by the social promotion association “Red Carpet for All” and sponsored by the City of Venice. Participation is free with reservations required.
