Auctions Dec. 16-22: modern art, antique art, jewelry and more

Here we are at a new appointment with our column dedicated to auctions. Let’s find out together which auctions will take place from December 16 to 22.

Cambi is offeringAuction 507 Modern and Contemporary Art for Dec. 18 divided into two sessions: the first offers for sale works by artists such as Lucio Fontana, Osvaldo Licini, Mario Siorni, Lucio Fontana and Filippo de Pisis; the second offers works by Fortunato Depero and Mario Sironi. At Maison Bibelot there are two auctions running through Dec. 21: Romolo Monti’s Collection of 19th Century Painting. Furniture, Jewelry and Curiosities from Villa Il Nirvana in Castiglioncello and A Florentine Collection. Both auctions are online only.

Babuino ’s Auction No. 213 continues on Dec. 16, when it will be the turn of Archaeology, Furniture, Sculpture, Marbles and Antique Silver; Dec. 17, with 19th-century Paintings and Furniture; and Dec. 18, with Jewelry, Silver and Collectibles.

The Il Ponte auction house is offering for Dec. 16 at 3:30 p.m. the Modern and Contemporary Art auction featuring works by famous contemporary artists such as Andy Warhol and Banksy, while Dec. 17 at 3 p.m. and Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. will feature 20th-century Decorative Arts and Design, which features furniture designed by Franco Albini, Osvaldo Borsani and Gianfranco Frattini, to name a few.

There are two auctions scheduled for the day today at Christie’s: Home Plate: A Private Collection of Important Baseball Memorabilia, an auction all about baseball, and Antiquities, which offers for sale memorabilia from ancient civilizations such as Greece andEgypt.

Sotheby ’s is offering many auctions: on Dec. 16 there is Art Contemporain Evening Sale, an auction featuring works by the greatest masters of the second half of the 20th century, such asJean Dubuffet and other important artists; on Dec. 17 there will be SASSOON: A Golden Legacy, which sells silver pieces, manuscripts and textiles found in various places ranging fromWestern Europe to theFar East, and Important Judaica, an exceptional selection of Jewish books and manuscripts, ceremonial objects and paintings, while from Dec. 15 to 21 there is Four Decades: In Celebration of AIPAD, an auction of photos taken during the 20th century including a photo by Nickolas Muray depicting Frida Kahlo.
