Ministry publishes calls for applications to join lists of cultural heritage professionals

The Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities has issued a circular through the General Directorate of Education and Research advising of the publication of calls for applications to join the lists of cultural heritage professionals. The professional profiles for which the calls have been published are those of physical anthropologist, archaeologist, archivist, librarian, demoethnoanthropologist, diagnostics expert, and art historian.

The notices are permanent and the requirements for participation in registration are those set out in the annexes to Ministerial Decree No. 244 of May 20, 2019 on “Regulations concerning the procedure for the formation of national lists of archaeologists, archivists, librarians, demoethnoanthropologists, physical anthropologists, experts identified under Law No. 110 ’amendment of the code of cultural heritage and landscape, referred to in Legislative Decree No. 42 of 2004, on the subject of cultural heritage professionals, and establishment of national lists of the aforementioned professionals’”(at this link the decree and its annexes).

The procedure for the verification of applicants consists of the evaluation of qualifications and activities indicated in the annexes to the decree and is carried out by a special committee. Applications for inclusion in the lists must be completed and sent exclusively electronically: the IT platform will be available from December 1, 2019 on the website of the Directorate General for Education and Research. For the profile of archaeologist, on the other hand, the old portal will remain active until the new public directory system is fully operational. The listing will be operational and searchable once the application process is finalized, and those who are listed will be issued a certificate.
