Whitelight Art Gallery hosts traveling exhibition of Words Make Art

The Whitelight Art Gallery in Milan presents “di Parole faccio Arte,” a traveling exhibition focused on words and their representation in visual art that will be divided into three solo shows: Giorgio Milani, Sabrina D’Alessandro and Opiemme, each with different artistic languages for a single theme, in a three-lane journey that will make parallel stops in Milan, Turin and Rome.

“Of writing as a means of visual communication so much has been said, so much has been done.” explains Giorgia Sarti, curator of the exhibition and co-founder of Whitelight Art Gallery “A form of expression in art that from the early 1900s to the present has not stopped proliferating and spreading in a broad and interdisciplinary path that embraces different forms of expression: from conceptual art, to assemblage of materials to public art. In this path, which will accompany us throughout the year 2018, we will present the contemporary field of investigation on the word reworked in art through the work of Giorgio Milani, Sabrina D’Alessandro and Opiemme. An important theme, which finds within hubs such as those created by Copernicus, the right exhibition and fruition space. The work proposed by the three artists will certainly foster that dialogue and innovative vision desired and promoted by Copernico as a promoter of culture even within business-related contexts.”

The event is realized in collaboration with Copernico, a platform of spaces and services dedicated to smart working, whose managing director, Pietro Martani, says, “In a world where words are often mistreated, used quickly, adapted and perhaps bent to the needs of social networks, the idea of proposing to all members of our community a deep reflection on the word as the protagonist of a three-lane journey seemed to us not only interesting but above all stimulating. The concept of art carries with it a universe of values that speak of creativity, culture, style, taste for beauty, and the ability to help us anticipate trends that may be reflected in the enterprise.”
