The appointment with "Le Stanze del Vetro," a project conceived by the Giorgio Cini Foundation and Pentagram Stiftung, which this year will collaborate with Cirva - Centre international de recherche sur le verre et les artes plastiques for the event called “Una fornace a Marseille,” which unites Venice, the venue of the event, with Marseille, two cities united by their proximity to water.
The event is an exhibition of glass works in two different venues: The Rooms of Glass (where it will remain open until July 29) and the Querini Foundation (until June 24) and brings together the works of 18 artists.
The Glass Rooms houses works by Larry Bell, Pierre Charpin, Lieven De Boeck, Erik Dietman, Tom Kovachevich, Giuseppe Penone, Jana Sterbak, Martin Szekely, Robert Wilson, and Terry Winters, while the Fondazione Querini boasts a collection that includes works by Dove Allouche, James Lee Byars, Giuseppe Caccavale, Hreinn Fridfinnsson, Philippe Parreno, Remo Salvadori, Jana Sterbak, and Francisco Tropa.
Curated by Isabelle Reiher, director of Cirva in Marseille, and Chiara Bertola, head of contemporary art at Querini, the project focuses on a selection of works from Cirva in an attempt to highlight highlights of creation by artists and designers who have come to the residency over the past 30 years.
