A new virtual exhibition is available on the official website of the Uffizi Galleries. It is Francis, Universal Brother and explores the figure of Francis of Assisi through the works depicting him preserved at the Uffizi.

From the Stigmata of St. Francis made between 1240 and 1250 to the oil on canvas St. Francis Contemplates the Skull, via Bruno Bramanti’s St. Francis Preaching to the Birds, the virtual review takes us on a discovery of the various works celebrating St. Francis and his cult. Also of note is the presence of a historical postcard that immortalizes the inauguration of the Monument to St. Francis in Piazza Risorgimento in Milan.
