The National Gallery of the Marches brings to the exhibition sixty works from its storerooms

From October 5, 2023 to May 5, 2024, the rooms of theAppartamento degli Ospiti on the ground floor of the Ducal Palace in Urbino, home of the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche, will host the exhibition The Other Collection. Stories and Works from the Deposits of the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche, curated by Gallery Director Luigi Gallo, Valentina Catalucci and Andrea Bernardini.

Sixty little-known works from the museum’s deposits will be exhibited on this occasion. The paintings, for this major event, have been the subject of new studies and undergone extraordinary maintenance and restoration.

The exhibition aims to contribute to the enhancement of the heritage of the deposits present in museums: objects and works of art that are available to scholars and are rarely shown in permanent exhibitions.

On the same day of October 5, the “Pasquale Rotondi” Library of the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche, consisting of about 20,000 volumes, including monographs and scientific journals, of a historical-artistic nature, a point of reference for the study of the Ducal Palace and the entire history of art with particular reference to the Marche region, will also be inaugurated at the Ducal Palace.

The exhibition The Other Collection will be open to the public Tuesday through Sunday from 8:30 am to 7:15 pm. Closed Mondays.
