From April 12 to July 17, 2022, the Musée d’Orsay in Paris will host the first major exhibition dedicated to Antoni Gaudí organized in France in Paris in fifty years. The exhibition will focus on the famous architect ’s creative process through drawings, models, and spectacular creations such as furniture never exhibited in France.
The exhibition will focus on Gaudí’s fundamental traits: space and color. It will lead visitors through his creations of palaces, parks, and churches such as the Sagrada Familia project. Films, photographs and documents from the period will testify to the vitality of the architect’s career, but also to the social, political and urban upheavals that occurred in Catalonia at the end of the 19th century. Gaudí’s studio, his many collaborators, and his sophisticated working techniques will be the exhibition’s guiding thread in order to help the public understand the architect’s extraordinary capacity for invention.
The exhibition is organized by the Musée d’Orsay and the Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris, in collaboration with the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya in Barcelona (MNAC), and is curated by Isabelle Morin Loutrel and Elise Dubreuil.
