The exhibition Broken Nature: Design Takes on Human Survival lands in America to land in the spaces of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, where it can be visited until August 15, 2021.
Produced by the Milan Triennale as part of its XXII edition( newshere ), the exhibition is curated by Paola Antonelli, Senior Curator of the Department of Architecture and Design and Director of Research and Development at MoMA New York, and Anna Burckhardt, Curatorial Assistant of the Department of Architecture and Design. The purpose of the exhibition is to represent an in-depth investigation of the ties that unite humans to the natural environment and that over the years have been deeply compromised, if not completely destroyed.
According to Stefano Boeri, president of Triennale Milano, the exhibition “represented an important moment of reflection on a crucial issue: the relationship between man and the environment and the possible solutions that the world of design can offer to strengthen this relationship that is now, unfortunately, compromised. After this experience, Triennale has confirmed, through its exhibitions and activities and in defining the theme of the next International Exhibition in 2022, its commitment to addressing the great urgencies of the contemporary. We are therefore happy that, thanks to the collaboration and dialogue with an important institution close to us such as MoMA, theoretical reflection and debate can be further nurtured and strengthened in continuity with what has been done so far.”
