As previously announced in early 2019, the Poldi Pezzoli Museum will extraordinarily welcome the Madonna Litta attributed to Leonardo da Vinci to Milan for the first time in nearly 30 years.

The famous work kept at theHermitage will be on view in the Milanese museum from November 7, 2019 to February 10, 2020, on the occasion of the exhibition Leonardo and the Litta Madonna, curated by Pietro C. Marani and Andrea Di Lorenzo, with installation design by Migliore + Servetto Architects and graphic design by Salvatore Gregorietti; the exhibition is part of the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci and in the Milano Leonardo 500 palimpsest, promoted by the City of Milan | Culture. The exhibition is organized thanks to the support of Fondazione Bracco, Main Partner, joined by Regione Lombardia and the City of Milan.



In addition to the Litta Madonna, a selection of works, twenty paintings and drawings of refined quality, from public and private collections around the world, made by Leonardo himself and his pupils, such as Giovanni Antonio Boltraffio, Marco d’Oggiono, the Master of the Pala Sforzesca, and Francesco Napoletano, in the last two decades of the 15th century, will be on public view.
