From Feb. 28 to April 4, 2025, Franco Maria Ricci ’s Labirinto della Masone becomes a theater for meetings and reflections with Art Hour, a series of five appointments spanning graphic design, painting, photography, sculpture and bibliophilia. A series of meetings designed for those who love to explore the world of art without preconceptions, just as Franco Maria Ricci did in collecting and promoting works far removed from the fashions of the moment. Curated in collaboration with Stefano Salis, the event transforms the Labyrinth Museum into a cultural salon for an hour, where experts and enthusiasts discuss artists and movements that often escape the spotlight of mainstream criticism. A format that, among stimulating conversations, stories and tastings, aims to be an opportunity for in-depth analysis but also for pleasant sharing. The atmosphere of these meetings will be enriched by an unprecedented set-up, created with the contribution of the Italian company Pedrali, which has designed elegant design lounges to welcome the audience in an informal and refined environment. Making each appointment even more special will be an aperitif curated by the bistro restaurant Il Labirinto by 12 Monks, in collaboration with Freccianera Fratelli Berlucchi. The historic Lombard winery has been linked to Franco Maria Ricci since its beginnings, so much so that it was the Labirinto founder who gave the name Freccianera to the brand and designed its first label. During the first meeting, on February 28, the winery and its fine Franciacorta wines will be presented, while on all evenings it will be possible to join the exclusive Freccianera Club free of charge.
The first appointment, Friday, Feb. 28, will be dedicated to ceramics and will feature Bertozzi & Casoni with Ceramica incantata. Artist Giampaolo Bertozzi will lead the audience on a special tour of the exhibition BERTOZZI & CASONI. It’s not what it seems, on the occasion of its finissage. Accompanying him will be Strega Prize winner Tiziano Scarpa, who will read some unpublished stories inspired by the artists’ works.
On March 7, it will be Luigi Ghirri ’s turn with Vita padana, sguardo universale, a tribute to the photographer who was able to transform the landscapes of the Po Valley into figures with a universal breath. Discussing it will be Marco Belpoliti and Gino Ruozzi, experts on his work and profound connoisseurs of the Po Valley atmospheres that marked the photographer’s work.
On Friday, March 14, the focus will shift to a figure still shrouded in mystery: Giandante X. The meeting Uno sconosciuto, un mistero, un artista da riscoprire will bring to light the story of Dante Pescò, aka Giandante X, painter, sculptor, illustrator and partisan, whose artistic biography is still partly to be reconstructed. Guiding the audience on this journey will be Roberto Farina, author of the main monograph on the artist, and Antonio Riccardi, poet and profound connoisseur of his work.
On Saturday, March 29, it will be time for Luigi Serafini, with the meeting Codex Ininterrumptus. The artist, known for his enigmatic Codex Seraphinianus, will be interviewed by Daniela Collu on the occasion of the opening of his new exhibition at the Labyrinth. A journey into the visionary universe of Serafini, whose creations have redefined the concept of the art book.
Closing the show on Friday, April 4, will be Paolo Ventura with Un impostore fatto ad arte. A photographer and artist with a dreamlike imagination, Ventura plays with identities and illusions, creating scenarios poised between reality and fiction. Together with journalist Laura Leonelli, author of his biography, he will trace his artistic journey in a dialogue that promises to reveal the secrets behind his evocative creations.
To participate in the meetings, it is possible to gain access with a day ticket to the Labirinto della Masone or to purchase a dedicated entrance to the event, at a cost of 12 euros, including an aperitif. More information is available on the official website www.labirintodifrancomariaricci.it.
