The art of Joan Miró in Turin for a major exhibition of 130 works


In Turin from October 4 to January 14 is the major exhibition 'Miró! Dream and Color' in the halls of Palazzo Chiablese.

Scheduled from Oct. 4, 2017 to Jan. 14, 2018, is the major exhibition that Turin is dedicating to Joan Miró (Barcelona, 1893 - Palma de Mallorca, 1983), the great Spanish artist who after beginnings marked by his adherence to Cubism became one of the most celebrated Surrealist painters. The exhibition, which is entitled Miró! Dream and Color and held at Palazzo Chiablese, features no less than 130 works, almost all large-format oils, which come on loan from the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró in Palma de Mallorca, the city where the artist spent much of his life and where he married Pilar Juncosa.

The public can see masterpieces such as Femme au clair de la lune (1966), 1973’sOiseaux and Femme dans la rue (1973), all exhibited in Turin, the presentation says, “to narrate the experimentation sought by Miró within the main artistic currents of the 20th century such as Dadaism, Surrealism and Expressionism.” The exhibition is curated by Pilar Baos Rodríguez, director of exhibitions at the Fundación Pilar i Joan Miró in Palma de Mallorca.

Tickets: full 14 euros, reduced 12 euros (for visitors aged 15 to 26, over 65, disabled, military, law enforcement not on duty, teachers, non-accredited journalists, agent clients and Generali employees), reduced groups 11 euros (minimum 15 maximum 25 people, with one free, reservation and microphone compulsory), reduced university 8 euros, reduced special 7 euros (children from 6 to 14 years old, Civil Service volunteers), reduced school groups 4 euros for preschools, 6 euros for others (maximum 25 students, two free for teachers, reservation compulsory, microphone compulsory for secondary schools). Free for children under six, accompanying disabled person, accredited journalists, ICOM cardholders, licensed tour guides of the province of Turin, coupon code holders, Arthemisia Group vip card holders, Abbonamento Musei Torino Piemonte and Torino + Piemonte Card + Royal Card holders. From Monday to Friday, Cartafreccia holders with an AV ticket to Turin enter on a 2 x 1 formula (two whole tickets for the price of one). Provided an open ticket at 16 euros that allows entry to the exhibition without blocking the date and time slot. Family special: 12 euros adults, 7 euros children (ages 6 to 14).

Guided tours also planned: cost is 117 euros (microphone included) for groups in Italian, 137 in foreign languages.
