To celebrate the 70th anniversary of Tex, one ofItaly’s most beloved comic books, the Museo della Permanente in Milan will hold an exhibition entitled, precisely, Tex. 70 Years of a Myth. Curated by comic book historian Gianni Bono in collaboration with the editorial staff of Sergio Bonelli Editore, the exhibition takes us on a journey to discover the origins of the comic book, while illustrating how it has enjoyed success since 1948 with drawings, photographs, rare and sometimes never-before-seen materials and themed installations.
It is a journey to the American Frontier in the company of Tex Willer, a cowboy driven by a deep sense of justice and innate generosity, and the characters who populated his adventures such as his son Kit Willer, the sympathetically gruff Kit Carson and the proud Navajo Tiger Jack. In parallel, the exhibition will also display the front pages of newspapers published during the hero’s 70 years of existence, in order to show the public the Italian story during this time frame.
The exhibition will be open from October 2, 2018 to January 27, 2019.
