On the occasion of Holocaust Remembrance Day, the exhibition Storie restituite. Documents of the anti-Semitic persecution in the Intesa Sanpaolo Historical Archives, the result of the conclusion of a two-year project of reorganization and inventorying of the archival fund ofCariplo’s Ente gestione e liquidazione immobiliare (EGELI), curated byIntesa Sanpaolo’s Historical Archives as part of Progetto Cultura.
The exhibition intends to present visitors with six stories selected from those discovered from the more than 1,500 named files in the Archives: the stories of Italian and foreign Jewish citizens are those of Eugenio Colorni, Rinaldo Jona, Aurelia Josz, Gino Emanuele Neppi, Schulim Vogelmann and Azienda Alfredo Sonnino/Piero Sonnino.
Through their stories, the exhibition aims to highlight the close link between the historical and human dimensions.
Visitors are also invited to immerse themselves among the shelves of the Archives to reflect on the importance of the work of protecting and enhancing archives.
Intesa Sanpaolo’s Historical Archives, thanks to the online publication of the inventory of Cariplo’s EGELI Fund and its opening to consultation in the study room at Via Morone 3, returns to the public an archival fund of great historical importance.
