From January 26 to April 28, 2019, the city of Campobasso will host an exhibition by renowned contemporary photographer Steve McCurry.
Icons, this is the title of the exhibition, will be set up at Palazzo Gil and will present to the public one hundred of the most famous shots and ten more unpublished ones: images of great emotional impact that capture talent and depth in every detail, poetry and war together, looks of despair, tears, and children’s smiles.
The photographic exhibition intends to lead the visitor to cross borders and get a closer look at a complex world undergoing profound transformation.
The exhibition route will not have obligatory sequences so as to leave the visitor free to admire the shots according to his or her own line. It will be a concentration of the whole path of a photographer and a humanist.
Icons is conceived by McCurry himself and curated by Biba Giacchetti; it is promoted by the Molise Region and Fondazione Molise Cultura.
Hours: Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m.; Sundays and holidays from 5 to 8 p.m. Closed Mondays.
Tickets: Full 12 euros, reduced 10 euros for over 65s and children 13 to 18 years old; reduced 5 euros for children 7 to 12 years old and university students.
