"Steve McCurry Icons," an exhibition curated by Biba Giacchetti, opens today at the Sansepolcro Civic Museum.
Until Nov. 5, 2017, about 100 shots of the great contemporary photographer will be on display to allow visitors to admire the most famous images of his career.
The absolute icon of his production is Sharbat Gula, the famous Afghan girl, but there are also shots from India to Burma, from Japan to Africa with portraits, images of war, suffering, joy and amazement.
Guiding visitors through many of his works will be Steve McCurry himself with an audio guide available free of charge; in addition, a number of videos will recount the photographer’s career and the challenging search that led him to find the Afghan girl a full 17 years after the famous shot.
The exhibition is promoted by the Municipality of Sansepolcro and organized by Civita Mostre in collaboration with SudEst57.
