Stargate by Fabio Viale at the Poggiali Gallery in Pietrasanta, Italy.

From tomorrow, Aug. 8, until Aug. 25, Fabio Viale's Stargate will be open to the public at the Poggiali Gallery in Pietrasanta

Tomorrow, August 8, will see the opening of the third Versilia exhibition this summer by Piedmontese artist Fabio Viale.

It is Stargate, a monumental work, more than two meters high, made of statuary marble: a stellar portal, as we can deduce from the title of the work, through which the visitor can teleport to other worlds and universes using imagination and creativity.

Actually, the stellar "means of transportation" consists of two fruit transport crates joined together, reproduced in much larger dimensions than in reality and made of marble.

The choice of these objects is due to the geometric complexity of their textures with intersections, voids and solids, which allows the artist to continuously challenge himself.

Stargate is being exhibited for the first time in an Italian gallery after having been at the Museo del Novecento in Milan and the Sperone Gallery in New York.

It will be on view to the public at Galleria Poggiali on Via Garibaldi, 8 in Pietrasanta until August 25.
Hours: Monday through Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to midnight.
The opening will be held Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 6:30 p.m.
