Theinstallation entitled"Prima Porta" created by Spanish artist Santiago Ydáñez has been on view to visitors since September 27, 2018.
The work is inspired by thefresco that decorated Villa di Livia, which was removed in 1951 for conservation purposes and exhibited in the Roman National Museum’s Palazzo Massimo.
Ydáñez reworked in his installation the fresco that decorated the residence of Augustus’ wife at Prima Porta-a project that was carried out by the Soprintendenza Speciale Archeologia Belle Arti e Paesaggio of Rome together with theSpanish Academy in Rome.
Hours: April 1 to October 31 openings on Thursdays and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; the first, third and possible fifth Saturday of the month from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; the first, third and possible fifth Sunday of the month from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m;
November 1 to March 31, openings on Thursdays and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; the first, third and possible fifth Saturdays of the month from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; the first, third and possible fifth Sundays of the month from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
