From Nov. 17, 2018, to Jan. 6, 2019, in conjunction with the exhibition"Courbet and Nature," Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara presents the first Italian solo exhibition mounted in a museum by Eva Jospin (Paris, 1975), entitled"Sous-bois."
It is a journey into the enchanted world of woods, springs and caves, natural elements recurring in Courbet’s artistic production as well. This creates a thematic dialogue between the French artist of the past and a contemporary French artist.
Eva Jospin creates, through cutting out and assembling poor materials, such as cardboard, rope, and wire, installations inspired by tree foliage and dense forests.
An exhibition itinerary that arouses an enchanted gaze toward nature: one will admire an imposing installation in raw cardboard reproducing a forest, an aerial installation in paper entitled"L’Encre des grottes," the smaller Dessins.
In addition, for the Palace’s loggia, the artist has created the site-specific work Nymphaeum: a plot of golden lianas that recalls sacred buildings dedicated to sylvan deities.
The exhibition Sous-bois is part of the contemporary art exhibition Offside and is curated by Maria Luisa Pacelli.
