Sky's the limit, Siena hosts first group show dedicated to aerial photography


From Oct. 26 to Dec. 2, 2018, Siena will host the first-ever group show on area photography in Italy.

The Complex of the Basilica of San Domenico in Siena, precisely in the premises of the Liceo Artistico "Duccio di Buoninsegna," will host from Oct. 26 to Dec. 2, 2018, the first group exhibition ever held in Italy dedicated to area photography, entitled"Sky’s the limit."

Thirty-seven images from the first edition of the Drone Awards Photo Contest related to different themes will be visible to the public: Abstract, Nature, People, Sports, Wildlife, Urban Landscape.



Winner of the Photographer of the Year award is French artist Florian Ledoux with his shot Above The Polar Bear, which depicts a polar bear among the ice in Nunavut, northern Canada.

Other awards were presented to Ovi D. Pop (Abstract), Gabriel Scanu (Nature), Shui Qinghua (People), Vincent Riemersma (Sports), Adam Barker (Wildlife) and Francesco Cattuto (Urban Landscape).

The awards were given after a selection of more than 4400 images from 101 countries around the world accomplished by a jury consisting of Guo Jing, Dan Humphrys, Chase Guttman, Luca Bracali, and Sean Davey.

Tickets: Full 7 euros (cumulative of all SIPA - Siena International Photo Awards exhibitions); reduced schools 3 euros. Free for children under 14 accompanied by parents.
