From September 15, 2018 to January 20, 2019, Palazzo Loredan in Venice will host the exhibition"Idols. The Power of the Image."
Visitors will be able to admire more than one hundred works from the West and the East, from the Iberian Peninsula to the Indus Valley, from the Atlantic to the borders of the Far East, dating from between 4,000 and 2,000 BC.
Curated by Annie Caubet, honorary conservator of the Louvre, the exhibition aims to cover a wide geographical space to show how since prehistoric times there has been a need to depict the human body in graffiti, wall paintings and in three-dimensional form.
The exhibition is sponsored by the Giancarlo Ligabue Foundation, established in 2016 by Inti Ligabue.
