San Miniato, there is time until April 30 to see the marbles of the Henraux Collection

Ten marble sculptures from the Henraux Collection are scheduled to be exhibited in the historic center of San Miniato(Pisa) from October 30, 2018 to April 7, 2019. The exhibition was a great success and, for this reason, the works will remain on display further until April 30.

Explains Mayor Vittorio Gabbanini, “The sculptures were appreciated and much visited during the exhibition but also outside this period. We have had many appreciations for a project that enhances our City to the fullest. Letting them go away on January 7 was really premature, so we talked with the Henraux Foundation, which was immediately willing to leave the sculptures in San Miniato until April 30.”
“Our mission, for the past 200 years, has been to enhance and raise awareness of the marble from our quarries through the beauty of sculpture and the grandeur of Architecture,” says Paolo Carli, President of Henraux and Henraux Foundation “In San Miniato we are represented by international artists of great value, I was sure they would be appreciated by visitors.”

“This project has turned out to be an important opportunity that is enriching our beautiful center, making the art of sculpture known to the general public,” adds the mayor. “The idea, born almost by chance, of bringing marble to the City, an operation that had never before been done in San Miniato, proved successful. Many citizens and visitors appreciated these ten works scattered throughout the area, and it was important to prolong an exhibition that is offering San Miniato a path not only artistic but also full of beauty.”

Among the works on display are Arrivederci e Grazie (Goodbye and Thanks ) by Fabio Viale, Two Endless Columns by Park Eun Sun and Moby Dick (Vertebra) by Daniele Guidugli.
