Ruudt Peters presents his jewelry in a retrospective at the Museum of Jewellery in Vicenza, Italy

The Museum of Jewelry in Vicenza hosts Ruudt Peters' Bron retrospective, where the artist will present his creations to the public.

At the Vicenza Jewelry Museum, Bron, the exclusive retrospective of Ruudt Peters (Netherlands, 1950), one of the most highly regarded contemporary jewelry designers, is on view to the public from April 5 to September 22, 2019. The exhibition is held in the museum’s Spazio Off managed inside the Basilica Palladiana by Italian Exhibition Group with the City of Vicenza.

The exhibition aims to present an overview of the artist’s rebellious oeuvre, from the early 1970s to the most recent creations stemming from the exploration of different cultures, customs and habits. Through amultimedia installation, it is possible to learn more about his work through short films activated by QR codes.

Ruudt Peters’ work is based on a strong curiosity about the essence and mystery of human existence, particularly in relation to religion, philosophy, and alchemy. In the 1990s he exhibited his work in installation form, establishing himself as one of the first artists to consider jewelry and the way it is presented equally important. "All my jewelry is interconnected and springs from a flow of events and various sources of inspiration. Cause and effect. Action and reaction. Falling down and getting back up. Uncertainty. Discovery. Curiosity. This together constitutes the Bron exhibition, which not only offers an overview of my work but also explores my sources of inspiration," said the artist himself.

“Ruudt Peters is one of the masters of contemporary jewelry. We are honored to be able to host him: through his work, the Museum confirms its pluralistic approach by including multiple visions on jewelry,” said Jewelry Museum director Alba Cappellieri.
