Rome, solo exhibition by Cristiana De Luca opens new season at Curva Pura space

Rome's Curva Pura space opens the new season with a solo exhibition by Cristiana De Luca.

In Rome, the Curva Pura space opens its new season on Saturday, September 8, 2018, with an evening event Apparte - Appuntamenti d’Arte hosting artist Cristiana De Luca who will present the exhibition "Di/strutture," open to the public until September 16, 2018.

Below is the presentation of Cristiana De Luca’s work:

"A narrator of space and the structures that define it, Cristiana explores phenomena related to perception, working with the malleability and subjectivity of the human experience of apprehension of reality. The artist materializes her insights in pictorial, sculptural and even installation works to produce a synthesis, lopsided, hyper-material, de/structured, translocated and re-assembled.

When we look at his works, it is as if we are looking at structures or elements in an accelerated way in time, with overlapping viewpoints, the processes of simultaneous birth and decay, coexistence of multiple universes of a repeated experience. There is something eternal and atomic but also familiar in Cristiana De Luca’s work. Works with a vaguely nostalgic hint, although geometric and often abstract, are evocative of the sensation of deja vue, also due to a painting technique used by the artist in her paintings, typical of the avant-garde of the 20th century, layered, material from the agglomeration of hues, evocative of the hint of trembling lines at the borders of the greats such as Klee and Modigliani, and as fascinating as theabstraction and repetitiveness of the structures of Sol Lewitt, the latter of great influence on Cristiana De Luca.

Textural and conceptual, Cristiana’s work leaves one with a sense of completeness, of being permuted in a meaningful place, where the new non-confines of her and, consequently, of our reality are enigmatically traced. It is an uncertain and evocative journey, denoting both the power of the pictorial tool and the potential of new multimedia languages, in a de/structured and expanded experience that while decomposing reinforces, that while recognizable innovates and while ambiguous outlines, unequivocally and strangely reassuring, the horizon of infinite possible worlds."
