Rome, exhibition on works restored since 2016 earthquake reopens. With extension until July 26

The exhibition Renaissance of the Marche. Works of Art Restored from Earthquake Sites reopens at Rome’s Complesso Monumentale di San Salvatore in Lauro on May 18 and will be extended through July 26. The traveling exhibition landed at the Complex last February and had to close in March due to the Covid-19 emergency.

Curated by Stefano Papetti and Pierluigi Moriconi (here is a lengthy interview with the two curators), the exhibition showcases 51 restored Marche works owned by seventeen different public and ecclesiastical entities in the provinces of Ascoli Piceno, Fermo and Macerata, including Scenes from the Life of St. Lucy, the Praying Madonna, Child and Musician Angels and the Nativity with Saints Jerome, Francis, Anthony of Padua and James of the Marches, to name a few.

The first stop of the traveling exhibition was Ascoli Piceno, while the third and last will be Senigallia.
