On the occasion of the third edition of Wopart, an international fair of works on paper,THE VIEW Lugano hotel will host from September 22 to November 30, 2018 the exhibition Reflections on the lake, a brand new project by artist Omar Galliani.
The exhibition will take place between the lobby, the halls, the spa and the suite, where the pastel on panel work"Blu Oltremare" will be installed inside the latter. Opening the retrospective is"Clorophelia," a large panel that combines the use of drawing and gold as an auroral mirroring of light; other works include"Your Spots in My Eyes" (1982), exhibited at the Venice Biennale, pastels from the"Berenice" cycle, and drawings from the"Only Roses" series.
Relative to the narcistic relationship with the waters of Lake Lugano, Omar Galliani intends to find a link between the reflection understood as the physical datum of the mirroring of the face and what psychologically implies it with all its consequences: from ecstatic beauty to identity doubt.
