In its last days of opening, the major exhibition on Raphael in Rome at the Scuderie del Quirinale(here is our review) will open 24 hours a day: it will therefore be possible to visit it even in the middle of the night or at dawn. This will happen from Friday, August 28 to Sunday, August 30: from 8 a.m. until midnight on Sunday, August 30, non-stop opening for the Urbino exhibition. But that’s not all, because from Monday, August 24 to Thursday, August 27, there will also be evening opening until 1 a.m. In total, 132 hours of opening in one week, to allow the widest possible number of people to admire the great artist’s masterpieces. At the moment, the exhibition curated by Marzia Faietti and Matteo Lanfranconi has snapped up as many as 120,000 tickets.
“We conclude the biggest exhibition event of the year with an extraordinary schedule,” says Mario De Simoni, President of Ales - Scuderie del Quirinale. “From Italy and abroad the enthusiasm and attention received has been astounding. Not a day went by without registering a full house. We have made a tremendous effort to combine the great public demand with limited admissions and time, but we will continue like this until the end. On the contrary, we will increase our efforts to allow the widest possible public to admire the masterpieces of this unrepeatable exhibition, without increasing the capacity of the groups but extending the visiting hours, so as to continue to ensure the strictest security measures and interpersonal distancing. Besides, this is a civic duty, because this is not only an exhibition, but it is an event that will leave its mark because of its exceptionality, both in view of the validity of the scientific project, the coincidence with a unique anniversary, and the value assumed on the occasion of the reopening after the lockdown, as a symbol of restart in the sign of art and beauty.”
It will be possible to purchase tickets for the new time slots starting today, Aug. 3. Visiting conditions, defined by a specific technical-sanitary protocol to ensure extraordinary security measures, include a triage procedure at the entrance with a decontamination mat, body temperature detection by thermo scanner and hand sanitization. Visits to the exhibition take place in small groups, accompanied through the rooms by Scuderie staff. Tickets can only be purchased online or through VivaTicket circuit outlets. The visit lasts about 75 minutes, during which visitors can be accompanied by the new audio-guide, available free of charge by downloading the Scuderie del Quirinale app on their cell phones.
