Scheduled at Salamon Gallery in Milan is the exhibition"Tabula Picta. Paintings between Late Gothic and Renaissance," which will be held from November 23, 2018 to February 1, 2019.
Fifteen panel paintings dating from the period between the last quarter of the 14th century and the early 16th century will be on display.
Among the artists featured are Niccolò di Pietro Gerini, Antoniazzo Romano, the Master of the Epiphany from Fiesole, and the Master of the Lamentation from Scandicci.
Matteo Salamon, curator of the exhibition, said, “The works, all by Italian authors, are also united by an extraordinary state of preservation, which in a certain sense represents a happy anomaly in the sphere of Italian collecting. Until a few years ago, unlike in the UK or the U.S., in Italy the suggestion of the name of the great artist was favored over the conservation quality of the painting.”
