Public and critical success for the exhibition Legati da una cintola (Bound by a Girdle), the exhibit at Prato’s Palazzo Pretorio that traces the iconographic history of the sacred girdle, the relic preserved in the city. Ten thousand visitors visited Palazzo Pretorio in the first three months: such a success that led the organizers to decide on an extension of more than a month: the exhibition will therefore close on February 25, 2018. An extension made possible also thanks to the great scientific authority of the exhibition, which convinced lenders such as the Metropolitan and the Vatican Museums to leave their works in Prato for an extra month.
Also crowded were the Saturday afternoon lectures that are accompanying Legati da una cintola, and the participation of schools was very high: 1,300 students from 65 classes visited the exhibition in the first three months of the exhibition. Next week Finestre sull’Arte will publish an in-depth review of the exhibition: in the meantime, you can find information about the exhibition and a selection of images by clicking here.
