Prado pays homage to Bartolomé Bermejo for the first time with an anthological exhibition

The Prado Museum pays tribute for the first time with an anthological exhibition to Bartolomé Bermejo, one of the greatest artists of 15th-century Spain.

Ananthological exhibition entirely dedicated to Bartolomé Bermejo (Cordova, 1440 - Barcelona, 1501), one of the most significant Spanish artists of the 15th century, opens at the Prado Museum in Madrid.

The exhibition, which can be visited until Jan. 27, 2019, brings together and presents to the public for the first time most of the masterpieces by the Cordova-based artist, exalting his technical virtuosity.

Forty-eight works held in museums and collections in Spain, Europe and the United States: among them St. Michael Triumphs over the Devil, from the National Gallery in London, and the Desplà Pieta from Barcelona Cathedral.

An anthological exhibition curated by Joan Molina, lecturer at the University of Girona, which aims to pay homage to and acquaint the general public with Bartolomé de Cárdenas, known as Bermejo.
