The Pistoia Musei Foundation reopens its doors for the photography exhibition Exodus. On the Roads of Migration and extends it until July 26.
The exhibition, interrupted until now due to the health emergency, is curated by Lélia Wanick Salgado and displays photographs by Sebastião Salgado(Aimorés, 1944) that tell the story of migration and show us the tragedies and dramas that refugees face.
In 1999, the photographer wrote, “Today more than ever, I feel that humankind is one. There are differences in color, language, culture and opportunity, but the feelings and reactions of all people are similar. We hold the key to humanity’s future, but we must understand the present. These photographs show a portion of our present. We cannot afford to look the other way.”
The exhibition is at the Buontalenti Palace in Pistoia, and to enter it is absolutely necessary to make reservations by calling 0573 974267, (hours: daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 6 p.m.).
