Pisa: Pistoletto presents his exhibition at the church of Santa Maria della Spina

Michelangelo Pistoletto will present in Pisa, in the Sala delle Baleari of Palazzo Gambacorti, at 11 a.m. on May 27, 2018 his exhibition"The Time of Judgment," which will be held until August 31, 2018 at the Palazzo and the church of Santa Maria della Spina.

In the latter venue, the artist will create an installation with about fifty chairs, lent by citizens, to depict the shape of the Third Paradise: three consecutive circles, in which the two outer circles represent diversity and antinomies, while the middle one represents the birth of a new humanity and epoch, where everyone tends to reach a level of civilization in which science, technology, art, culture and politics give new life to the Earth.

Instead, the Balearic Hall will be the setting for the installation The Time of Judgment (2009): a temple in which the four religions, namely Christianity, Buddhism, Islam and Judaism, will reflect on themselves. The installation will consist of a square plan construction, where a large mirror will be placed on each of the four major walls to frontally reflect a symbol or instrument of worship.

The exhibition is curated by Ludovico Pratesi and is promoted by the City of Pisa in collaboration with the University of Pisa and Michela Rizzo’s SpazioTempo Association, with support from GALLERIA CONTINUA, San Gimignano, Beijing, Les Moulins, Habana and Atlante Servizi Culturali.
