The Project Rooms of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice will host from August 26, 2017 to January 7, 2018 the exhibition-dossier"Picasso. On the Beach."
The exhibition, curated by Luca Massimo Barbero, aims to emphasize Picasso’s ties with the Mediterranean, starting with a work entitled“On the Beach”(La Baignade) that is conserved at the Peggy Guggenheim, and developing into a restricted selection of works: three paintings, ten drawings made in 1937 by Picasso himself, and a sculpture.
An exhibition that is part of the“Picasso- Méditerranée” project promoted by the Musée National Picasso in Paris.
The exhibition catalog Picasso. On the Beach contains an extensive essay by the curator on the theme of the beach in Picasso’s works and the artist’s relationship with the Mediterranean.
The exhibition is open daily, except Tuesdays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
