The major exhibition on the ceramics of Pablo Picasso (Málaga, 1881 - Mougins, 1973) being held at the Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche in Faenza has been extended until May 13. The exhibition, titled Picasso. The Challenge of Ceramics and curated by Harald Theil and Salvador Haro with the collaboration of Claudia Casali, was supposed to close its doors to the public on April 12 (it opened last Nov. 1 instead). However, due to the current emergency, a one-month extension was decided.
The exhibition(more information here and an in-depth look at the antique in Picasso’s ceramics here) displays fifty of Picasso’s ceramics from the collections of the Musée National Picasso-Paris: the aim is to examine the Spanish artist’s sources of inspiration, starting with his artifacts present at the MIC in Faenza and comparing them with those arriving from Paris. Plus, also a special section on the relationship between Picasso and Faenza. For all info you can visit the Faenza MIC website.
