From July 28 to September 15, 2019, the Piermaria Rossi Museum in Berceto (Parma) hosts the exhibition Pasolini and Women, curated by Giuseppe Garrera and Sebastiano Triulzi. The exhibition, promoted by the Sentieri dell’Arte Cultural Association with the patronage of the Municipality of Berceto, Borghi Autentici and the Emilia Romagna Region, is entirely focused on the relationship between Pier Paolo Pasolini and women: the intent of the exhibition is to discover, through Pasolini’s work, what it means to live and celebrate diversity, and that condition of inadequacy in the face of power and abuse. Women taught Pasolini a model of poetic and civil behavior, the importance of not compromising, of remaining true to oneself.

The exhibition consists of more than 90 original photographs, first editions, manuscripts and documents trace Pasolini’s special genealogy of women (his mother Susanna, Giovanna Bemporad, Silvana Mauri, Elsa Morante, Laura Betti, Anna Magnani, Silvana Mangano, Maria Callas, Amelia Rosselli, Anna Maria Ortese, Elsa De’ Giorgi, Oriana Fallaci and many others): loves and friendships that constituted examples of resistance to the current world, teaching a courageous poetry, fiercely different and always in revolt. The feminine, then, as a genealogy of intellect, and a host of women not domesticated by bourgeois and patriarchal society. Through original and rare shots, the exhibition allows us to “see” these connections in depth. Special attention is paid especially to some deep ties with exceptional female figures, yet to be discovered and investigated, first and foremost Giovanna Bemporad, Laura Betti, Lorenza Mazzetti and Silvana Mauri.

The exhibition will be open on Sunday, July 28, 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m., August 1-25, 2019 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m., August 26-September 15 open only on Saturdays and Sundays 10:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m. For information call +39 393 6710042, email info@sentieridellarte.it, or visit www.museopiermariarossi.it.
