From October 4 to 31, 2019, Palazzo Creberg in Bergamo is showing the hidden collection of theAccademia Carrara, thanks to the historic collaboration between Fondazione Credito Bergamasco andAccademia Carrara.
On the occasion of the exhibition The Mirror of the City. Portraiture between the 19th and 20th centuries through the Accademia Carrara’s hidden collections, eighteen portraits will be presented to the public through which the history of Bergamo and the people of Bergamo between the 19th and 20th centuries can be retraced from a never-before-seen point of view. The works will be divided into four sections: The City of Artists, The City of Professions, The City of Aristocracy and The City of Women.
In addition, the Creberg Foundation, as part of its historic Grandi Restauri project, has taken on the task of restoring two monumental works measuring 4 x 4 meters each created by Simone Peterzano, a pupil of Titian and a master of Caravaggio, for the Church of San Barnaba in Milan: The Miracle of Saints Paul and Barnabas in Listri and The Call to the Mission of Saints Paul and Barnabas.
