From April 21 to July 9, 2022, the Leica Galerie Milan exhibition space is hosting Bryan Adams Exposed. Photographs of entertainment, fashion and art personalities by the Canadian rocker and Pirelli Calendar signatory.

Twenty-eight large-format photographs of leading figures from the worlds of fashion, entertainment and art are the focus of BRYAN ADAMS Exposed, an exhibition of Canadian rocker Bryan Adams (Kingston, Canada 1959) curated by Anke Dagenhard and Denis Curti. The exhibition, to be held at the Leica Galerie exhibition space in Milan from April 21 to July 9, 2022, aims to document the portrait talent of the singer-songwriter and musician, who has built a solid reputation as a photographer over the past two decades, leading him to sign the 2022 edition of the Pirelli Calendar and to portray personalities such as Queen Elizabeth II of England, whose portrait ended up on a Canadian postage stamp.

The author of five books of photographs and advertising campaigns for major international brands, Bryan Adams’ shots in the Milan exhibition focus on protagonists from the worlds of entertainment, music, fashion and art, from Amy Winehouse to Ben Kingsley, Kate Moss to Mick Jagger, Pink to Lindsay Lohan, Morrissey to Michael Jackson and many more.

The traditional studio portraits are contrasted with the less conventional ones, which testify to the relationship of great complicity Adams has managed to establish with his models-they are often longtime friends-and delve into the more intimate nature of the celebrities. In each image, the photographer’s strong presence can be felt: Bryan Adams’ camera lens does not create a barrier between himself and the person portrayed; his great ability is precisely to overcome distance and ideally embrace the subject.
