New and historic works by Bradley, Chan-kyong and Toderi in dialogue at Florence's Poggiali Gallery

From Sept. 29 to Dec. 15, 2018, new productions by Bradley, Chan-kyong and Toderi will dialogue with historic ones in an exhibition at Florence's Poggiali Gallery

Galleria Poggiali in Florence will host"Making Time" from Sept. 29 to Dec. 15, 2018, an exhibition featuring works by the three international artists Slater Bradley (San Francisco, 1975), Park Chan-kyong (Seoul, 1965) and Grazia Toderi (Padua, 1963).

As anabsolute premiere, the latest creations of the three artists will be on public view in three independent exhibitions accompanied by historical works not exhibited in Italian museums. Photographs, videos, collages, video installations, drawings made in different periods will dialogue with each other in a site-specific exhibition.

The new productions will be Slater Bradley’s Blue David Shield, works inspired by Michelangelo’s David, Park Chan-kyong’s video and three light-boxes Child Soldier, the video installation Red-Map, and overlapping drawings on tracing paper entitled Disappearing by Grazia Toderi. This is the first time for Chan-kyong and Toderi at Galleria Poggiali: the latter received the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale in 1993, and Bradley was the youngest artist to have a solo show at The Salomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York.

Slater Bradley will present visitors with the video Sequoia from 2013, two works on canvas from 2011, Parthenon Solar Shield from 2018, and new blue monochrome works from 2018.

Curator Lorenzo Bruni adds, “The very title Making Time suggests a novel key with which to view the works of the artists in the exhibition, especially as their video works coexist with others of a photographic, pictorial or sculptural nature.”
