Naples, Madre hosts the first posthumous exhibition in a museum dedicated to Alessandro Mendini

In Naples, Madre organizes the first posthumous exhibition on designer Alessandro Mendini in an Italian public museum.

Alessandro Mendini: Small Everyday Fantasies is the first exhibition in an Italian public museum since his death on February 18, 2019, and the first in the history of Madre dedicated to one of the most important figures in the international post-World War II design and architecture scene.

Realized thanks to a close collaboration with Studio Alessandro Mendini and curated by Gianluca Riccio and Arianna Rosica, the exhibition investigates the multidisciplinary nature of Mendini’s work and the link between his poetics and avant-garde artistic culture, with a focus devoted to his relationship with Naples, the city that hosted some of his public art interventions. Three main projects: the design of the Salvator Rosa and Materdei subway stops and the redesign of some key elements as part of the Villa Comunale renovation works.

The exhibition is open until April 5.
