More than two hundred works of art will be on display at the Reggia di Venaria Reale from March 28 to September 16, 2018, as part of the 18th edition of Restituzioni, the preservation and enhancement program conducted by Intesa Sanpaolo for nearly three decades.
These were restored between 2016 and 2017 thanks to Intesa Sanpaolo’s support and come from 17 Italian regions, except for one that comes from Dresden.
Masterpieces ranging from ancient to contemporary: among the works on display are the Madonna of Mercy and Angels with God the Father by the Master of Staffolo, Van Dyck ’s Portrait of Caterina Balbi Durazzo, and a mosaic depicting Nereid dating from the second half of the first century B.C.-early second century A.D., as well as works by Titian and Twombly.
The exhibition"The Fragility of Beauty" is curated by Carlo Bertelli and Giorgio Bonsanti and is organized by Intesa Sanpaolo in collaboration with Consorzio Residenze Reali Sabaude.
