MuDEC, Museum of Cultures in Milan, is celebrating the first 50 years of Etro, the famous fashion house, with the “Generation Paisley” exhibition.
Scheduled from Sept. 23 to Oct. 14, the exhibition will have an imaginative and articulated scope: the branches of a giant tree will welcome the visitor, while a sort of seamless spine will cross 5 rooms, building with 50 garments an analog and stylistic path formed by the clothes of the different collections. An all-encompassing experience in which, amidst fabric-covered walls, quadreria, refractions in a play of mirrors that multiply and amplify, digital and three-dimensional effects, guests will be immersed in a magical atmosphere, which will allow them to understand how for Etro the cultural factor is the founding principle.
Many items on display belong to the personal collections of each of the members of the Etro family; in total harmony with Mudec, possible exchanges between the precious objects of the Etro family and those already in the museum’s permanent collection have also been imagined. A fruitful dialogue will thus be built that symbolically breaks down boundaries and broadens sensibilities and spaces of the heart. Admission to the exhibition is free.
