Milan, masterpieces by 17th century Emilian masters from Credem collections on display at Museo Bagatti Valsecchi

The Bagatti Valsecchi Museum in Milan is bringing ten masterpieces by 17th-century masters from Emilia, from the Credem art collection, along with eight sculptures by Carlo Zauli to its halls.

Until Nov. 10, 2024, the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum in Milan presents together with Credem the exhibition Lo sguardo del sentire. The seventeenth century of Emilia from Credem’s art collections, curated by Antonio D’Amico and Odette D’Albo. The aim is to raise awareness of part of Credem’s artistic heritage and above all to support the restoration of the works of the Zauli Museum in Faenza that were hit by the flood on May 16, 2023. In fact, thanks to visitors’ contributions, the Bagatti Valsecchi Museum will be able to support the Zauli Museum in Faenza in the restoration of its works.

The exhibition brings together ten masterpieces by the masters of the 17th century in Emilia, from the Credem art collection, along with eight sculptures by Carlo Zauli.

The layout creates a dialogue between the Emilian Baroque, represented by works by artists such as Guido Reni, Giovani Lanfranco, and Giulio Cesare Procaccini, and the rooms of the museum. This confrontation develops around the theme of the intimate and devout gaze, typical of seventeenth-century subjects, offering the public an opportunity to discover treasures from a rarely accessible bank collection. At the same time, visitors can admire the sculptures of Carlo Zauli, one of the most influential ceramists of the 20th century at the Italian and European level, internationally known for his innovations in ceramic art, majolica and porcelain production.

The entrance fee is 15 euros and includes access to the exhibition, audioguide and a contribution of 2 euros earmarked for the restoration of works at the Zauli Museum in Faenza.
