Coming soon is the first retrospective exhibition that aims to organically situate and contextualize Marino Marini historically and stylistically in the history of sculpture.
From Sept. 16, 2017 to Jan. 7, 2018, Palazzo Fabroni in Pistoia will host"Marino Marini.Passioni visive."
The exhibition will investigate the artist’s works by comparing them with the great models of 20th century sculpture and with examples of sculpture from past centuries that were fundamental to his creations.
In ten sections, Marini’s entire artistic activity will be traced through his busts, his nudes, his “Knights,” and his portraits.
The exhibition is curated by Barbara Cinelli and Flavio Fergonzi and is organized by the Marino Marini Foundation of Pistoia and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation of Venice. It also has a Scientific Committee composed of the curators and Philip Rylands, Salvatore Settis, Carlo Sisi and Maria Teresa Tosi.
From January 27 to May 1, 2018, the exhibition will be transferred to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice.
