Mantua, an exhibition on Marc Chagall at Palazzo della Ragione

From September 5, 2018 to January 13, 2019, an exhibition dedicated to Marc Chagall will be held at Palazzo della Ragione in Mantua.
The exhibition is titled “Marc Chagall as in painting, so in poetry,” is curated by Gabriella Di Milia, in collaboration with the Tretyakov State Gallery in Moscow, is promoted by the City of Mantua and organized and produced with publishing house Electa.
Organized in conjunction with Festivaletteratura, the exhibition will display 130 works in all, including the complete cycle of 7 canvases painted by Chagall in 1920 for the Jewish Chamber Theater in Moscow.

There will also be a selection of emblematic works (paintings and watercolors) created from 1910 to 1918 and a series of etchings executed between 1923 and 1939, including illustrations for Gogol’s Dead Souls, Lafontaine’s Fables and the Bible.
